Problems Registering

We get a few error messages from the mail server saying that the message asking new users to confirm their email address has not been delivered. This may be because the address has not been entered correctly, or because the user's mail system is not accepting messages (e.g. because the mailbox is full). There is nothing we can do to correct this, since we cannot be sure that we have a valid email address (and we don't have any staff to try to fix it by hand). If you don't get the confirmation email, please do the following:

1. Make sure that emails from admin@jcse.org are not being treated as junk mail. Usually adding admin@jcse.org to the contacts list in your email program will achieve this.
2. If you are using a spam reduction service, such as Spam Assassin, you must ensure that admin@jcse.org is automatically accepted, rather than sending the usual message to confirm that the sender is human (because, of course, it is not).
3. Make sure your email has plenty of storage available for incoming mail.
4. Try registering again, making sure that you enter your email address correctly. In particular, make sure there are no spaces in the email address.

When you receive the confirmation email, it is important that you follow the instructions in the message. This requires you to click a link to open a web page and send a confirmation code to prove that you have received the confirmation message (this is to ensure that someone can't pretend to be you and fake the confirmation without receiving the confirmation message). Please do not reply to the message (it just wastes our time).

Problems submitting Papers

We have tried to make JCSE as simple to use as possible, but in the event that you experience problems, please work through the procedure:

1. Make sure that the JCSE host web server is running - it does occasionally go down for short periods, and if possible please retry after a day or two.
2. Please read all of the information available - it is surprising how many people send an email asking how to publish their paper, when all of the information is given here on the Web site.
3. Make sure the address that you are using starts with www.jcse.org - when we originally started JCSE we used a different address; when we moved the address the old address worked to some extent, but links within the pages do not work properly, and this can give error messages.
